thoughts from lesotho

The day I left for Lesotho, the Lord showed me this passage in Ephesians:

“…praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.” (Eph 6:18-20)

He reminded me that even though I am going for a secular purpose, to teach critical thinking to high school students, I have a higher, spiritual purpose as a follower of Christ. I must constantly pray for the courageous spirit to share the gospel with my students and the people I befriend in my two months there. He also has called me to continue praying for all the saints, to not forget the family and friends back home, and to lift up their requests to the Lord. Without much distraction here, I hope my prayers can help sustain my walk and keep loved ones in my heart.

“And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” (Phil 1:9-11)

May we come to know what true love is and in turn find joy in our obedience and service to God. May our work be pleasing to the Lord so that when Christ returns we have the assurance of being pure and blameless before Him.
